Overview and purpose

Young people have the power to shape society, but they need to know how to make their voices heard in decision-making processes. How do you negotiate with institutions? How do you build a movement for change?

This intensive 4-day course equips aspiring leaders with skills in public speaking, negotiation, and grassroots advocacy to influence local and European policies.

Through debate simulations, lobbying techniques, and activism strategies, participants will learn how to develop effective campaigns and drive political and social change.

Learning Outcome

Language: Italian
Language level prerequisites: B1 or higher
Audience: Young activists, students, youth association members, nonprofit representatives, and anyone looking to develop leadership and advocacy skills.
Prerequisites: No prior experience required. Participants can bring campaign ideas or initiatives to develop during the course.

Daily Schedule

Day 1: Leadership and Public Speaking for Social Change

Morning: Advanced techniques in public speaking and persuasion.
Afternoon: Workshop – Presenting and defending an idea in a political context.

Day 2: Advocacy Strategies and Negotiation with Institutions

Morning: Structure of public policy and decision-making processes.
Afternoon: Negotiation simulation with institutional stakeholders.

Day 3: Activism Campaigns and Community Engagement

Morning: Building a youth movement – strategies and tools.
Afternoon: Workshop – Planning a local or European advocacy campaign.

Day 4: Guided Tour of Rome – History of Activism and Leadership

Visit to key institutions and symbolic sites of political and social leadership.
Practical activity: Simulation of a public debate on a youth-relevant issue.
