DESCRIPTION

“Upskilling amateur artists and hobbyists from rural areas in using digital tools to promote their work” project (LIMITLESS) is an Erasmus+ initiative designed to empower amateur artists, artisans, and hobbyists living in rural areas by giving them the digital skills they need to promote their work online.

Many adults between 45 and 64 years old possess incredible creative talent but lack the digital confidence to showcase it. In rural regions, limited digital skills often make it difficult to sell creations online, build visibility, or explore new opportunities. LIMITLESS aims to change that.

Through a series of practical workshops, tailored training materials, and community-based activities, participants will learn how to:

  • Use social media, websites, and online marketplaces
  • Create engaging digital content
  • Understand basic cybersecurity to stay safe online
  • Build simple digital marketing strategies
  • Explore new professional or entrepreneurial possibilities

The project is carried out by a European partnership between Comete-Prod (France), Alfa Edu (Italy), and Projectinno (Cyprus). Together, we combine expertise in digital training, creative entrepreneurship, and rural community development.

Our goal is simple:
Give rural creatives the tools to share their work with the world, confidently and safely.

Limitless talent deserves limitless possibilities.

OBJECTIVES

The LIMITLESS project is built around a clear mission: to support adults aged 45 to 64 living in rural areas in gaining the digital skills they need to bring their creative work into the online world. Many amateur artists, artisans, and hobbyists living outside urban centers have strong talents but limited digital confidence. By focusing on their specific realities, LIMITLESS seeks to remove the barriers that prevent rural creatives from promoting, selling, or even sharing their work online.

To achieve this mission, the project first aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of digital marketing. This includes learning how to use social media platforms effectively, discovering the value of email marketing, understanding the basics of websites and e-shops, and navigating online marketplaces and e-commerce platforms. These skills will allow participants not only to showcase their creations but also to reach wider audiences and explore new income opportunities.

Another essential objective is to increase awareness and understanding of cybersecurity. Many people in rural areas feel insecure or hesitant about carrying out online activities because they fear scams, data breaches, or unfamiliar threats. LIMITLESS responds to this by offering simple, practical guidance that helps participants stay safe in the digital environment. Building this confidence is crucial, as it lays the foundation for them to use online tools regularly and independently.

The project also aims to empower participants to create their own promotional materials using free and accessible digital tools. Whether it’s taking photos of their artwork, designing visuals for social media, or preparing content for a website, these hands-on skills help transform their creativity into compelling digital stories. This contributes directly to increasing the visibility and perceived value of their work.

Finally, LIMITLESS focuses on helping learners develop straightforward digital marketing strategies tailored to their needs. Participants will learn how to identify their target audience, choose the right platforms, plan simple promotional actions, and evaluate the effectiveness of their efforts. By understanding both what to do and why it works, they build the confidence to continue promoting their work even after the project ends.

These objectives are grounded in a strong commitment to relevance and practicality. Before designing any educational materials, the project collects input directly from the target group through focus groups, surveys, and interviews. This ensures that the training truly reflects the challenges rural amateur artists face—from limited digital literacy to fears around online safety and a lack of knowledge about online business models. In this way, LIMITLESS not only teaches digital skills but also offers a pathway toward new professional possibilities, greater visibility, and stronger engagement in the digital world.

RESULTS

The LIMITLESS project is designed to create tangible, meaningful outcomes for adults aged 45–64 living in rural areas. One of the core expected results is that participants will be able to confidently use digital tools (such as social media, websites, and online marketplaces) to promote their artistic or craft-based work. Through hands-on workshops and tailored educational materials, the project will strengthen participants’ digital marketing skills and enable them to translate their creativity into an online presence that can reach wider audiences.

Another major result involves improving digital literacy in rural communities more broadly. By enhancing the fundamental digital skills of the target group, the project contributes to reducing the digital divide that disproportionately affects rural populations. Participants will not only learn how to navigate digital platforms but will also gain practical experience that increases their independence and willingness to continue learning in the digital world.

A key expected impact concerns cybersecurity awareness. LIMITLESS aims to ensure that adults in rural areas can protect themselves online by recognizing threats such as phishing, hacking attempts, and fraudulent interactions. Strengthening cybersecurity skills will help participants feel safe engaging with digital tools, making them more likely to promote their work online and explore new online opportunities.

The project also expects to create a shift in the way participants perceive digital technologies. Through interactive training and co-created learning materials, learners will gain hands-on experience that makes the learning process engaging and relevant to their reality. This practical approach helps them integrate new knowledge more effectively and apply it directly to their personal and creative goals.

On a broader scale, LIMITLESS will support France, Italy, and Cyprus in progressing toward the goals of the EU’s Digital Decade policy programme, which aims to strengthen digital skills and ensure that digital transformation benefits all citizens, including those in remote and rural areas. By empowering rural adults with digital competencies, the project contributes to a more inclusive and balanced European digital landscape.

Finally, the project aims to contribute to the EU’s long-term vision for rural communities by fostering digital readiness that “leaves no one behind.” By helping rural adults participate more actively in digital life, whether to promote their art, launch micro-initiatives, or simply feel safer online, the project supports social cohesion, economic resilience, and lifelong learning in remote regions.
