DESCRIPTION

The “Mindful Support” project is an innovative initiative aimed at addressing the growing mental health crisis among immigrant and refugee youth who have been displaced by war and conflict. These young individuals often face immense challenges, including post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and social integration difficulties. Mindful Support equips youth workers with the tools, knowledge, and cultural sensitivity needed to provide effective, trauma-informed care.
Through this project, we aim to create a supportive framework where vulnerable youth feel understood and empowered. By fostering inclusion and diversity, Mindful Support ensures that youth workers are not only prepared to address psychological needs but also to create environments that celebrate cultural differences and promote resilience.

OBJECTIVES

Mindful Support is driven by three overarching goals:

  • Strengthening Youth Workers’ Capacity: Through comprehensive training and the development of a digital resource library, youth workers gain the skills needed to address the psychological impacts of trauma effectively.
  • Fostering Inclusion and Diversity: The project prioritizes culturally sensitive frameworks, ensuring that all refugee youth—regardless of nationality or background—feel supported.
  • Promoting Mental Well-Being: By equipping youth workers with innovative tools and practices, Mindful Support strives to enhance the mental health and resilience of immigrant and refugee youth.
RESULTS

The project is designed to produce meaningful, lasting outcomes:

  • A Digital Resource Library: An extensive collection of videos, infographics, and interactive content to assist youth workers in providing trauma-informed care.
  • A Skilled Network of Youth Workers: Professionals trained in cutting-edge practices, ready to deliver high-quality support to refugee youth.
  • Improved Mental Health Outcomes: Evidence-based improvements in the well-being of young immigrants and refugees, fostering better integration and personal growth.
